Sixth Wedding Anniversary

While Matt's parents were in town for the holidays, Matt and I got to spend the night away for our anniversary. It was our sixth wedding anniversary, but in total we have now been together (and basically married) for 14 years!! It's hard for me to believe how long it's been good. We're doing pretty well, I'd say!

We stayed at the Estancia La Jolla, which I Loved-- so many cute little touches and very private. You definitely don't feel like you are right in the middle if the city. We walked to the cliffs above Black's beach to watch the sunset -- it was so nice! It reminded me how amazingly gorgeous La Jolla is and how lucky I am to have grown up there.

I also took some pregnancy pictures since I haven't taken many with this pregnancy. I was 32 weeks pregnant when we took these pictures.

Trip to the Wild Animal Park

We hosted Matt's family this year for Christmas and New Years, and it was fun but after they left we felt like we needed a fun family day just for us. I convinced Matt to go to the Wild Animal Park (now called the safari park but its hard for me to get used to the new name!), which he didn't want to do because if the long drive. We ended up going, and I'm so glad we did because it really was a fun day. When you drive all the way out there, it sort of feels like you are on vacation.

Matt likes to torture us by making us go into the lorikeet exhibit. Keira and I aren't big fans because the birds swoop and dive bomb you for food, and they poop on you. Animals seem to love Matt so the birds just land on him and eat quietly. Keira got into it too, but a bird pooped directly on her head and we had to wash her hair in the sink!

The highlight for Keira was the park map. She stopped every few minutes to consult the map and give us directions, and even examined the map throughout the entire tram ride!

This picture of Matt and Keira on the tram is so funny to me -- Keira is enthralled with the map and Matt is totally bored. Keira brought the map home with us and had to take it around to show her grandparents and friends at school!
