Visiting Ann and Jason

Matt had a few weeks off between jobs, so we decided to head up to Eureka to visit Matt's parents. We decided to take it slow and make a few stops on the way. I had always wanted to go to San Luis Obispo, so we made our first stop there. I booked a cute hotel and a room with a hot tub, with dreams of a cute dinner and stroll in town followed by a leisurely night for Matt and I will Keira slept. We got stuck in LA traffic on the way, so the drive took nine hours rather than 5. I was really disappointed, and Keira was NOT happy about being in the car that long.

The next night we stayed at Ann and Jason's house. It was great to see old friends! We put the baby the bed and had a normal dinner like old times. They had just bought a house, which was adorable. Their neighborhood, Land Park, is awesome -- I had no idea there was anything like that in Sacramento! The streets are lined with leafy trees so it was cool even though it was the middle of summer. They lived a block from a really big park and were close also to the zoo and a place called Fairy Tale land. The neighborhood felt peaceful, but was only a five minute drive from midtown! To top it off, Sacramento is much more affordable than San Diego. I spent the rest of the week trying to convince Matt to move to Land Park.
